Summer's Last Blooms

"August rushes by like desert rainfall,
A flood of frenzied upheaval,
Expected,
But still catching me unprepared.

Like a matchflame
Bursting on the scene,
Heat and haze of crimson sunsets.

Like a dream
Of moon and dark barely recalled,
A moment,
Shadows caught in a blink.

Like a quick kiss;
One wishes for more
But it suddenly turns to leave,
Dragging summer away."

  3. Glad you are still enjoying your blooms...How much longer will you have them? I can imagine the frosts come pretty early in Alaska...Here we are (hubby is) tilling the ground to plant our fall veggie garden...I am hoping to get in a small harvest for Thanksgiving...Always makes it more special when it is home grown and gathered just like the first Thanksgiving.

    Blessings Kelsie
